How To Archive Mail In Outlook 2003

You may have received a message upon opening Outlook 2003 requesting that you “auto archive” you’re old e-mails from time to time. This message is harmless and can be ignored, we do however recommend that you archive you’re e-mail folder every month or so depending upon the volumes of mail you receive.

First open Microsoft Outlook, locate the file menu in the top left and then locate “Achieve” in the menu as pictured here and click it.

You will now be presented with the Archive menu, ensure that “Archive this folder and all subfolders:” is selected. Then select the date from which you wish to archive, all email sent or received prior to this date will be separated from the main body of email in you’re mailbox. Final you must select a location to out put the file to; by default Outlook selects its own root folder to store archives. Then click OK.

Once the archive process is completed you will be returned to the outlook screen you were last looking at. On the left hand side of the Outlook display you will notice you have a new folder which is named “Archive” all of you’re previous mail will be listed here.
