Compton Care is a large charity based in Wolverhampton who provide exceptional care and support for families living with incurable illnesses across Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Sandwell, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire. They have grown considerably since they first started out back in 1982 and now have three main sites and an impressive list of 27 retail outlets throughout The Midlands.
Computors Ltd have been providing Compton Care with IT Support, Installation and Consultancy services for more than 5 years and more recently we were asked to design, build, install and maintain a new server system to enable them to expand their storage, services and personnel and also implement redundancy with their IT systems and help to reduce their carbon footprint in the process.
Our solution was to consolidate multiple old servers across two main sites into four new physical servers running VM’s (Virtual Machines). Utilising Windows Server 2016 and Microsoft Hyper-V system we could run a number of virtual servers within a single physical server environment.
Microsoft SQL Server 2016, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft Exchange Server 2016, Windows Server 2016 Application Server & Domain Controller.
